Lukas Avendaño / Mexico
ES Lukas Avendaño es perfomancero y antropólogo. Quizá el más importante de la comunidad muxe oaxaqueña, esos zapotecos que nacieron otros en cuerpos de "hombres." Lukas es el único artista muxe que hace del performance un ensayo antropológico. Se ha dicho que se le puede pensar como actor, bailarín, performancero o todo al mismo tiempo. Lo cierto es que su obra es atravesada por tópicos como el género, la sexualidad, la identidad étnica y hasta la DesaparicIón Forzada, experiencia de la que no es Ajena desde que el 10 de mayo del 2018, su hermano el Cabo de la MARINA Bruno Alonso Avendaño Martinez no ha vuelto a casa. Lukas ha mostrado su obra internacionalmente. EN Lukas Avendaño is a performer and an anthropologist. Perhaps he is the most important of the Oaxa-Queña Muxe community, those Zapotecs who were born as others in the bodies of “men”. Lukas is the only Muxe artist who turns his performance into an anthropological essay. It has been said that he is thought of as an actor, a dancer, a performer or all three at the same time. The truth is that his work is crossed by topics such as gender, sexuality, ethnic identity and even by the Enforced Disappearances, of which he is no stranger, as his brother the Marine Corporal Bruno Alonso Avendaño Martinez has not returned home since 10th May 2018. Lukas’ work has had international exposure.
Juan Alemán / Spain
ES Comisario, director artístico, dramaturgo y performer. Fundador de La Juan Gallery, primera galería de España dedicada exclusivamente a las artes vivas donde ejerce como director artístico, además lleva a cabo el Hospital de Artistas un laboratorio donde ayuda a artistas a desarrollar sus propuestas. Colabora desde 2016 con el festival TRIBE en Londres como comisario. Sus piezas como creador transitan entre las artes escénicas y la performance, entre ellas destacan: Paisaje natural suceso paranormal, Aburrimiento Chair, Los Abajonistas, Nidea, Instalación Instantánea o Blackout visita guiada al cuarto oscuro entre otras. Sus propuestas y conferencias sobre su trabajo han sido presentadas internacionalmente. EN Curator, artistic director, playwright and performer. Founder of the La Juan Gallery, the first gallery in Spain dedicated exclusively to the living arts, where he works as an artistic director, and he also runs the Artists Hospital, a laboratory where he helps artists develop their potential. He has been collaborating with the TRIBE festival in London since 2016 as a curator. His work as a creator crosses between performing arts and performance, amongst which the following can be highlighted: Natural Landscape Paranormal Occurrence, Boredom Chair, The Abajonistas, Nidea, Instant Installation or Blackout, a guided visit to the dark room, among others. His proposals and lectures on his work have been internationally presented.
Paula Pailamilla Baeza / Chile
ES Paula nace en Chile en 1988. Desde 2011 ha desarrollado su trabajo desde el arte de acción basándose en su propia identidad mapuche en la ciudad, siendo este el punto de origen para sus obras, interpelándose a sí misma y a su contexto a nivel histórico, político y social. Desde el año 2016 forma parte del colectivo mapuche feminista Rangiñtulewfü.
Se destaca su trabajo textil desde proyectos de arte relacional. Ha sido artista invitada a diversos encuentros, teatros y galerías en Chile, Argentina, Uruguay y Colombia y con video-performance en Finlandia, siempre abordando temas desde el cuerpo e identidades racializadas latinoamericanas y su contexto. EN Paula was born in Chile in 1988. Since 2011 she has developed her work from the art of action based on her own Mapuche identity in the city, this being the point of origin for her works, questioning herself and her context on a historical, political and social level. Since 2016 she has been part of the Rangiñtulewfü Mapuche feminist collective.
Her textile work can be highlighted from among her relational art projects. She has been invited as an artist to various meetings, theatres and galleries in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Colombia and by video performance in Finland, always addressing subjects related to the body and racial Latin American identities and their context.
Shahar Dor / Israel
ES Shahar Dor es un artista de performance multidisciplinar, docente y director. Nacido en Israel, trabaja en todo el mundo. De renombre internacional, con más de 30 años de experiencia explorando el arte de la performance y con una fuerte conexión con las artes visuales. Sus obras pueden describirse como 'ceremonias de arte en vivo' que nacen en el punto de encuentro de lo íntimo y lo épico. El punto de partida de sus proyectos radica en explorar un material que crea un entorno para que el cuerpo actúe. Esto hace que su trabajo sea apreciado como arte performativo vivo y como arte visual. EN Shahar Dor is a multidisciplinary performance artist, teacher and the director. Born in Israel he works all over the world. Internationally renowned, with over 30 years of experience, exploring the art of performance and multidisciplinary art, with a strong connection to the visual arts. His works can be described as 'live art ceremonies' that appear at the meeting point of the intimate and the epic. The starting point of his projects lies in exploring a material that creates an environment in which the body acts. This makes his work appreciated as performative live art and as visual art.

ES LA JUAN Gallery es un espacio dedicado a las artes vivas, en donde se dan proyectos de creación, discusión y muestra en torno a la performance, la acción y la relación con el cuerpo. Nace en Madrid en 2015, fundado por Alex de la Croix (Cádiz, 1993) y Juan Gómez Alemán (Madrid, 1981). Desde su inauguración, La Juan, ha incidido en los márgenes de las artes visuales, las artes escénicas, la danza y la moda. Estos lugares comunes, son los que han marcado la identidad de este espacio en estos 3 años. En La JUAN, a través de nuestras acciones, se fomenta la participación del espectador, se cuestionan las bases sobre las que se sustenta el actual mercado del arte dejando a un lado el arte objetual y se desplaza el foco de interés hacia el sujeto y la acción. EN LA JUAN Gallery is a space dedicated to the living arts, where creative, discussion and demonstration projects are held through performance, action and relationship with the body. It was established in Madrid in 2015, founded by Alex de la Croix (Cádiz, 1993) and Juan Gómez Alemán (Madrid, 1981). Since its inauguration, La Juan has influenced the margins of the visual arts, the performing arts, dance and fashion. These common areas are what have determined the identity of this space during the last 3 years. In LA JUAN, through our actions, the participation of the spectator is encouraged, the basis that supports the current art market is questioned, leaving object art to one side, and shifting the focus of interest on to the subject and the action.
Marta Mantecón /

ES Licenciada en Historia del Arte por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y diplomada en Turismo (EOT), desarrolla su actividad profesional desde 1999 como comisaria de exposiciones, coordinadora de proyectos culturales, investigadora y escritora de arte contemporáneo y cultura visual. Completa esta actividad con la investigación y divulgación de temas relacionados con la crítica feminista y decolonial, procesos de construcción identitaria y artes fronterizas. Ha conducido y comisariado las tres últimas ediciones del Festival de Fotografía y Vídeo Foconorte, así como los ciclos de conferencias y acciones del Festival de Arte Público Desvelarte a lo largo de los últimos once años. En la actualidad es miembro del equipo docente de los Grados de Diseño en el Centro Universitario CESINE e imparte los seminarios de Historia del Arte Contemporáneo en UNATE. Asimismo, dirige el programa expositivo de la Sala Robayera del Ayuntamiento de Miengo en Cantabria y forma parte del equipo de redacción de la revista M-Arte y Cultura Visual. EN She graduated in the History of Art from the Complutense University of Madrid and also got a degree in Tourism (EOT), she has developed her professional career since 1999 as a curator of exhibitions, coordinator of cultural projects, researcher and writer of contemporary art and visual culture. She complements this activity with research and dissemination of topics related to feminist and decolonial criticism, identity building processes and border arts. She has conducted and curated the last three editions of the Foconorte Photography and Video Festival, as well as the cycles of conferences and actions of the Desvelarte Public Arts Festival over the last eleven years. She is currently a member of the teaching team of the Design Degrees in CESINE University Centre and teaches the History of Contemporary Art seminars at UNATE. She also manages the exhibition programme at the Sala Robayera of the Miengo City Council in Cantabria and is part of the editorial team of the magazine ‘M-Arte y Cultura Visual’.
César Martínez Silva / Mexico
ES México 1962. Artista indisciplionario, que ha abarcado diversos métodos de creación no sólo en términos técnicos sino conceptuales que van desde el uso de la dinamita hasta la gelatina comestible. Sus obras se han explotado y comido, han sido nutrientes simbólicos y enzimas creativas en los cuerpos que han degustado su trabajo. El mismo se ha presentado alrededor del mundo.
Gran parte de su trabajo aborda las diversas problemáticas económicas, sociales y culturales que han atravesado el mundo en las últimas décadas. Desde una lógica de provocación, crítica y desconcierto, utiliza múltiples soportes para abordar temas como el hartazgo social ante un sistema fallido, el fracaso de las instituciones, la globalización, las múltiples devaluaciones, la subsunción del gobierno mexicano al norteamericano, entre otros.
Es Doctor en “Arte Contemporáneo e Investigación” por la Universidad de Castilla La Mancha, España. Su tesis titulada “Cuerpo, política y subjetividad. Performance y prácticas antagónicas”, recibe el reconocimiento de un Sobresaliente Cum Laude.
Actualmente trabaja como maestro de tiempo completo en la División de Ciencias y Artes para el Diseño de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana unidad Azcapotzalco. ENGLISH Mexico 1962. Indisciplinary artist, who has embraced various methods of creation not only in technical terms but also in conceptual ones, ranging from the use of dynamite to edible gelatine. His works have been exploited and eaten, have been symbolic nutrients and creative enzymes in the bodies of those who have tasted his work. He has had worldwide exposure. Much of his work addresses the various economic, social and cultural problems that have plagued the world in recent decades. From a logic of provocation, criticism and bewilderment, he uses multiple supports to address issues such as social exhaustion in the face of a failing system, the failure of institutions, globalisation, multiple devaluations, the subsumption of the Mexican government to the North American one, among others.
He is a Doctor in “Contemporary Art and Research” from the University of Castilla la Mancha, Spain. His thesis, entitled “Body, politics and subjectivity. Performance and antagonistic practices.” received the recognition of an Outstanding Cum Laude. He’s currently working as a full time teacher in the Sciences and Arts for Design Division of the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Azcapotzalco unit.
Ana Matey / Spain
ES La artista madrileña Ana Matey, realiza una obra que transita entre el campo de las artes visuales, la performance, la acción, la danza butoh y en los últimos años explora el mundo sonoro en sus piezas, buscando a través del movimiento corporal y el objeto generar un diálogo o conversación. En los últimos años la conversación gira entorno a la relación humano-naturaleza, cuestionándose la posibilidad de una nueva simbiosis, así como otra vía de conocimiento y manera de estar en el mundo.
Su obra se ha mostrado en museos, galerías, teatros y espacios independientes en España e Internacionalmente. Desde el 2006 se dedica de manera paralela a la creación al ámbito de la dinamización, investigación y formación. Participa periódicamente en mesas redondas, conferencias y presentaciones. Ha recibido varios premios y becas de residencia. Su obra está publicada en revistas, periódicos, catálogos, tanto impresos como online. EN The Madrid artist, Ana Matey, creates work that travels between the field of visual arts, performance, action, and Butoh dance, and in the last few years she has been exploring the world of sound in her pieces, looking to generate a dialogue or a conversation through movement of the body and the object. In recent years, the conversation has revolved around the relationship between humans and nature, questioning the possibility of a new symbiosis, as well as another way of knowing and a way of being in the world.
Her work has been shown in museums, galleries, theatres and independent spaces in Spain and internationally. In parallel to creation, she has been dedicated since 2006 to the field of dynamisation, research and training. She regularly participates in round tables, conferences and presentations. She has been awarded various prizes and residency grants. Her work has been published in magazines, newspapers and catalogues, both in print and online.
Riccardo Matlakas / Uk
ES Nacido en Italia, es un artista multidisciplinar con base en Londres. Es conocido por su capacidad de desarrollar su obra en diferentes medios como el performance art, la danza, la pintura y la escultura. Obtuvo una licenciatura en Escultura en la Universidad de Bellas Artes de Nápoles y una Maestría en Escultura Social en la Universidad de Oxford Brookes, estudió Butoh y danza contemporánea con varios profesores.
Riccardo valora la cultura y el contexto en los que trabaja como la principal inspiración de su trabajo. Crea acciones y actuaciones catárticas en la vanguardia de las preocupaciones políticas, ambientales y espirituales actuales al excavar en busca de la esencia de la humanidad, más allá de razas o costumbres. El artista recoge a menudo reliquias de sus actuaciones que luego se convierten en objetos de memoria y contemplación. Riccardo Matlakas ha actuado y mostrado su trabajo a nivel internacional. EN Originally from Italy, he is a London based multidisciplinary artist working internationally. He is best known for his multi-talented capacity in different art forms including performance, dance, painting, and sculpture. He obtained a degree in Sculpture at the University of Fine Arts in Naples and an MA in Social Sculpture at Oxford Brookes University and at the same time he studied Butoh and contemporary dance with several teachers.
Riccardo values the context he works in as the main inspiration for his work, finding a common ground with each culture he connects with. He creates cathartic actions and performances in the face of current political, environmental, and spiritual concerns by digging for the essence of humanity beyond race and custom. The artist often collects relics from his performances, which later become objects of memory and contemplation. Riccardo Matlakas has performed and shown his work internationally.
Irene Mohedano / Spain
ES Irene es una artista española que trabaja entre Madrid y Nueva York, donde completó su formación artística con un Master en Teoría Crítica y Arte por la School of Visual Arts (SVA), con una beca Fulbright. Su trabajo Investiga sobre los mecanismos de representación que construyen nuestra experien- cia de la realidad, a través de un proceso crítico de cuestionamiento y desafío de narrativas hegemónicas y las formas en que se asimilan, así como sobre situaciones de conflicto derivadas de relaciones de poder y desigualdad a través de varias prácticas artísticas.
Ha participado internacionalmente en foros, residencias artísticas y grupos de investigación. EN Irene is a Spanish artist who works between Madrid and New York, where she completed her artistic training with a Masters in Critical Theory and Art from the School of Visual Arts (SVA), with a Fulbright scholarship. Her work researches the mechanisms of representation that form our experience of reality, through a critical process of questioning and challenging hegemonic narratives and the ways in which they are assimilated, as well as conflict situations derived from power and inequality through various artistic practices.
She has participated internationally in forums, artistic residencies and research groups.
Patrick Morarescu / Spain - Germany
ES Nació en Munich y actualmente trabaja y vive en Mallorca. Estudió Fotografía en la Academia de Fotografía de Munich. Su principal técnica artística es la fotografía, aunque sus proyectos suelen combinar otros formatos como el collage o la instalación. En su trabajo fotográfico prefiere las técnicas y los materiales analógicos, centrándose en poner la historia en un solo cuadro.
Ha mostrado sus obras a nivel internacional y ha sido becado por la UE e Instituciones de Arte Internacionales. Sus trabajos han sido publicados en British Journal for Photography, Le Journal de la Photographie, Der Greif, Revista Aint-Bad, Revista Feature Shoot, Revista Slate, Revista Musée, Revista Lenscratch, entre otros. EN He was born in Munich and currently works and lives in Mallorca. He studied Photography at the Munich Academy for Photography.
His main artistic technique is photography, although his projects often combine other formats, such as collage or installation. In his photography work he prefers analogue techniques and materials, focusing on putting the story into one single frame.
He has showed his works internationally and has been awarded grants by the EU Commission and Internationals Art Institutions. His works have been published in the British Journal for Photography, Le Journal de la Photographie, Der Greif, Aint-Bad magazine, Feature Shoot magazine, Slate magazine, Musée magazine, Lenscratch magazine, amongst others.

ES Kimvi (Bangor, UK 1982) es artista visual y de performance, fuertemente influenciada por los materiales y los viajes. Con sede en Inglaterra, continúa viviendo y trabajando en la ciudad histórica de Winchester. Con experiencia en arte textil, Kimvi recibió una licenciatura con honores en escultura, bellas artes en Winchester School of Art (2011), desde entonces ha explorado métodos sobre performance art con de Jurgen Fritz, Helen Spackman y Ernst Fischer, Ram Samocha y Thomas John Bacon. Kimvi ha actuado y expuesto internacionalmente. La artista se esfuerza por crear una narrativa con el material del entorno abarcando elementos históricos y culturales como parte del resultado general. A menudo usa su cuerpo para crear la marca o ser la marca de sí misma dentro del paisaje, en instalaciones site specific o esculturas. EN Kimvi (Bangor, UK 1982) is a visual and performance artist, heavily influenced by materials and travel. Based in England, she continues living and working in the historic city of Winchester. With her background in textile art, Kimvi graduated with a BA with honours in Sculpture and Fine Arts from Winchester School of Art (2011).
